“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” 3 John 1:2.
When I first read this scripture it blew me away. First, that the Creator of the heavens and earth calls me “Beloved.” Can you even wrap your head around that? That the Father loves you so much that when He thinks of you He calls you beloved. How amazing is that? Can’t you just see your picture on God’s refrigerator and every time He walks by He says, “That’s my beloved! That’s my baby!” Doesn’t that just give you joy and make you look up to the heavens and smile?
God wants the best for me from the inside out. I matter to God! That He would want my soul to be on one accord with Him and in peace with Him. That He would like to show Himself in all areas of my life: in my health, my finances, on my job, in my home, with others on the street. Wherever I go, they see His love and works in me. So, you know what this makes me do? It makes me examine myself.
Yeah, the thing we hate to do the most—look at ourselves! If we are honest with ourselves—me, myself and I, are the only people we can change. Being truthful with God is important. Ask Him, “Am I a demonstration of your love and works in my life? And if I’m not, how do I make a change in those areas so that I may be pleasing in your sight?”
I guarantee that He will answer you and meet you where you are. Do you know why? Because you are His Beloved!
Father, I sit in thanksgiving that you, the Creator of all things, calls me beloved. That you would look upon me with unconditional love and find me worthy to receive your grace daily. You have loved me in spite of myself and in spite of my sin. Help me to be a demonstration of your love and works in all areas of my life that You would be glorified before man. Let your love and works shine in me so that others will want to know who you are and that their lives can be the same reflection of Your love. Lord, I thank you for answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
